The Human Experience

Posted on Oct 12th, 2007 by Z : in awe Z

Forget spiritual mastery.
Master being human
and you'll get to the same place.

um, ... wow!  So whats the point zaadzsters of all this seeking, searching, doing, trying, wanting, attaining, awakening, etc?  Why are we in such a rush to get to the spiritual realms, instead of just LOVING being human??  Why work so hard to get to the spiritual realms when that is our natural state of being, and we go there naturally when we die?
Do you think that perhaps this place is about something different?
And if so, what do you think/feel/know it is about??

(This kinda goes hand in hand with what I am going through these days, and also what I was discussing with my friend Amit earlier today on one of his provoking and intruiging pods, dreaming wisdom.)

For those who saw "City of Angels" with Meg Ryan and Nic Cage, remember Nic Cage's friend (played by Dennis Franz) who was an angel and chose to become human, and his whole character was about his utter joy in immersing himself in the human experience, all of it, food, family, wife, kids, love...?
And what about the movie "Troy", where Achilles is talking to his captive, Perseus, and says something about that he's seen/met the gods, and that they envy us...

Careful what you wish for...

Posted on Oct 12th, 2007 by Z : in awe Z

I've been going through a tougher period over the past month or so, and I've been kind of wondering why.  And just now I was skimming through my own blog, and found that in a recent QaR, I had wished for "understanding".
I should know better by now, lol... It sure has contributed to the shaking up of my world of late.  Careful what you wish for zaadzsters...

Do you believe happiness is a choice?

Posted on Sep 27th, 2007 by Z : in awe Z
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 27, 2007:

Happiness is a state of being.  I have found in my life, that the times I am happy are when I am most in tune with life.  Many layers have been peeled back, and my energy gets softer and more subtle.  Then at a certain point, happiness is just there.  I am now working my way back there.  For finding that exquisite place, then not being there is... very hard.  So in a way, it is a choice.  But the actual receiving of it, is a divine gift.

And then there's the happiness that comes spontaneously when spending time with others...
"For memory has painted this perfect day
With colors that never fade,
And we find at the end of a perfect day
The soul of a friend we've made."
"You can't live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you."

The Art of Intuitive Action

Posted on Sep 1st, 2007 by Z : in awe Z

This is a great story I was sent recently.  I thought I could spread the inspiration around.

"About 10 years ago my daughter was about 2500 kilometers from Newcastle, and rang me one day sobbing because of an emotional trauma she was facing. She was about 20, and in a town known as Ayrlie Beach in Northern Queensland. I asked her what it was that she needed most in that moment, and she replied that she needed support, and my arms around her would be the best thing that she could hope for! Because I couldn't do that in that exact moment, I asked her to describe her surroundings to me (I have absolutely no idea 'why', at the time), and said that if she hadn't heard from me in about 30 minutes to ring me back. I asked her to stay exactly where she was. I had no idea how I was going to ring her back, by the way, as she was calling from a public phone booth (one of three), near a little park, surrounded by a few shops in the main street of Ayrlie Beach.

OK then, after hanging up the phone, I just sat for a few seconds. After only a very short time a phone number 'jumped into my head', and even though I recognized it, it wasn't a commonly used number of mine. I rang the number and it was a woman who had bought a house from me about 18 months previously, when I was working in Real Estate. My exact words to her were these, "Oh, it's you Liz, I have no idea why I'm calling you in particular, but my daughter is stranded in Ayrlie Beach, and I just got the thought to ring you and tell you that. Have you any idea why?"

"It could be because my Son lives there," says Liz.

"Oh really, that's got to be it," I said. "Do you mind giving me his phone number Liz?"

"Of course not, and I can only hope that he can be of some help!"

Liz gave me his mobile number and I rang straight away (only about 5 minutes have passed since telling my daughter that somehow I'd get her help). Fortunately, he answered immediately, and I told him the story of who I was, and why I'd rung.

I gave him the description of my daughter; where she was standing; and that she needed emotional support if he could find it in his heart to help out so unexpectedly like this. "Oh yes, I can see her," he said..."she's right across the street from where I'm standing!" He walked across the street and told my daughter that her Dad had sent him!

Imagine that...she almost fainted: only about 10 minutes had passed since she had rung me! I believe that she said something like this, "Wow, Dad's getting pretty good at this stuff!" She was taken to a safe house; nurtured and supported; given food and a bed for a couple nights; and also given money to get herself to where she needed to be.

That's intuition at it's best!

It may save a life or two if people can embrace the use of intuition, and learn to trust in it.

Remember: "What others do or say is their stuff; how we react, or not, is our stuff!"

What, right now, do you most want?

Posted on Aug 25th, 2007 by Z : in awe Z
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 24, 2007:

Understanding.

Because for me, understanding will bring all the other things: oneness, enlightenment, god realization.  Or vica versa.  I suppose they all flow together and work together synchronistically.

So I suppose, what I want most right now is to be fulfilled.  I desire to fully understand and  know and live my purpose according to my indweller, my eternal center, my authentic self.

Technique for challenges in life

Posted on Aug 24th, 2007 by Z : in awe Z
"
The next time you have a challenge to meet, approach it with an attitude of non-doing.  The technique is not as mystical as it sounds:
  1.     First, promise yourself you will not struggle.
  2.     Second, do the minimum first, then stand back.
  3.     Third, allow answers to come from your center.
"

Quote from “Golf for Enlightenment” by Deepak Chopra (pg 78)

Have you seen this work in your life?  If so, please share.

Timely reminder

Posted on Aug 24th, 2007 by Z : in awe Z
I had a great and deep moment of realization today.  Re-membering as it were.

As I was rereading "Golf for Enlightenment" by Deepak Chopra, I came upon this wonderful little ditty (pg 74,78,79):

"Effort is directed outward... but in reality the struggle is always internal -- you exert effort whenever your center is lost.  By center I mean the sweet spot inside.  To find your center without effort, take the following steps:
  1.     Know that you have a center.
  2.     Know that your belong there.
  3.     Know that the path to the center takes no effort.

Each of these sentences begins with the word know because non-doing is just a way of remembering who you really are.  You are not the struggle, and you never have been.  You are the knower.  In the Bhagavad Gita, the ancient Vedic text, Lord Krishna speaks of the "inward dweller" who constantly observes, touched by nothing yet part of everything... He or she is the most human aspect of you, the source of all love, truth, and beauty...

When your energy is directed outward, it is disorganized, it ebbs and flows, it is subject to being dissipated and lost without your knowledge.  Energy is meant to be fresh, strong, coherent, and channeled with great precision...
"
I have always loved how clearly Deepak speaks/writes.

It is very interesting to me how in such a short time (over this spring and summer), I have experienced this first hand; not a going within, but a being within naturally, effortlessly.  And interestingly again (something I never would have believed until I actually experienced it for myself) I am amazed at the role health and diet plays in my spirituality and connection to source.  I say this because in recent weeks, I have begun eating less raw live food, and more processed 'dead' food, and have been losing my connection, losing that natural ability to tune into the subtle depths of understanding all around us all of the time.  Its sad how little it takes to lose this intimacy with source and with your indweller.  I am just finishing up what little (dense energy) processed foods I have, and I will be going back to a raw food diet.
Seeing how it is the season of fresh fruit here in the valley where I live, I am thoroughly enjoying the sweetness of the fresh live fruits all around me.  I just had a few fresh figs given to me from someone who picked them off their fig tree in their back yard.  Yummmmmmmmm!!!

So, bringing it all back to Deepak, and 'knowing that the path to the(your) center takes not effort...
My spiritual experiences have shown me first hand how this is so very true and effortless.  But since in recent weeks, I have begun to lose that intimate and easy connection/communion.  To be so beautifully and sweetly reminded of this simple truth was a breath of fresh air for me today.  So I thought I'd share it here so it could be for others too :)
